Post-Irene Update

Dear Friends,

As many of you have either heard or know first-hand, many parts of Vermont suffered flood damage in the wake of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene.  Mad River Quilting stayed dry and we are open for business!  Route 100 is open to the north of us but is still being worked on to the south.  If you're coming here from I-89, you should take the Waterbury exit (10) as Route 100B through Moretown is still closed.  Many thanks to those who have sent messages of concern or stopped by to check in and lend a hand if needed.  It means so much!  There has been a tremendous outpouring of support to the communities in our area and a lot of work has been completed this week.  As progress continues and long-term needs become known, I know that quilters across the state (and maybe further away too) will be ready to help when needed.  We'll keep you posted about events!

For now, Waterbury (my home town) will be holding a FUNdraiser on Sunday, September 11, 1:00 - 5:00 at Rusty Parker Park.  There will be food, music, and a silent auction.  Come bid on some fabulous items and contribute to the rebuilding that needs to happen there.  Here's the FaceBook Event link:  Rise Up Waterbury!    Spread the word!

Best to all -

Lisa
